This step is alizarin crimson mixed with turkey green to make a rich brown.
This step is where the painting starts to become itself- I am participating, but there is a lot of stuff that comes about by itself.
For instance, the skull is looking a lot more menacing than it was before. I don't like this, but can work with it. Maybe use the floral motif as a response- this will help me decide on a pattern.
There is something goofy about the moons, too. I am thinking about how this painting is different from the other one in that it is of a particular thing that is casting particular shadows, it seems to be sitting on a tabletop whereas the other one is floating in space. I scratch lines to find the cast shadows. They make the moons look like balloons. I play with the idea of keeping them tethered.
I thought the moons were beginning to look like marbles, so I added Uranus with its ring to show these are not just balls.
They are also too much the same size and perhaps crowded.
I find that I like saying "Uranus".
